The Mule

 The Mule

The language of the magazines of the 1917 in The United States Of America was polite, respectful and official. Down below is the poem, a very serious verse of the American poet sir H.J, Waterford Conn. He presented his insights about the symbol of the animal- the mule- the Byblical symbol, which has never disappeared from the World Culture. The Chief Editor of the Magazine " The Spatula"- called this verse the poetic dissertation about the domesticated animal, which the mankind knows for more than two thousand years. The first time this poem has been published circa 1917 in the famous magazine of The United States Of America- "The Cottage Farmer".

The mule he is a funny sight,
He's made of ears and dynamite,
His heels is full of bricks and springs,
Tornadoes, battering rams, and things.
He's fat as any poisoned pup;
It's just his meanness swells him up;
He's always scheming 'round to do
The things you most don t want him to.

The mule he lives on anything;
He's got a lovely voice to sing,
And when he lets it loose at noon,
 It sounds like buzz-saws out of tune.
He stands around with sleepy eye
And looks as if he d like to die,
But when there's any dying done,
It ain t the mule I ll bet a bun.

Some folks don't treat mules with respect,
They say they ain't got intellect;
That may be so, but if you've got
To go to heaven on the spot,
And want a way that doesn't fail,
Just pull the tassel on his tail.
The mule he tends to his own biz;
He don t look loaded but he is.

The verse is the ode to the animal of the Jesus, who brought him through the gates into the City Of Jerusalem. The proud working animal, loved and respected for thousands of years by the whole mankind. Even the popular Walt Disney loves this animal- the stories of Winnie The Pooh- the little mule has a tassel on his tail. A symbol of the Bible.
This ode was found in the very famous  professional magazine of the pharmacists of The United States Of America- The Spatula, year 1917, Month of November
